Immanuel’s community garden was first planted in 2011 to produce fresh food for the Cornerstone Food Pantry at St. David’s in Aylett. This year, several vegetables are growing, and will help supplement donations of canned and dry goods that the ministry relies upon to feed about 300 families.
Everyone is invited to help. The garden committee needs assistance with picking, weeding, cultivating, staking or caging crops, and delivering crops to Cornerstone.
Volunteers tend the garden several days throughout the week, depending on the weather. If you would like to help, check the Wednesday Wireless, or contact Harriet Stout at 781-0520.
